Oh summer we’ll miss u!

Since today is Labor Day and we’re feelin’ Sunday for the second day in a row, we admit we’re also feeling too posh to push out a post (9/1 post).  Labor Day marks the symbolic end of summer and we’re a little glum that this favorite season is coming to an end.  We love all the sunshine, the flip flops (8/11 post), and the semi-clean khaki shorts/white t-shirt uniform that we throw on so easily every single day.  We adore the open windows and hearing the sounds of nature all day long.  Summer is everything Joyce.  So, until next June . . . bye summer . . . we love you for all the fun you have brought us.     

Big? Lizzi Miller

We thought this one was worth mentioning since summer is ending and everyone will be ‘covering up’ soon.  Lizzi Miller earns a living as a ‘plus size’ model??  Glamour magazine recently published a mostly nude photo of her–she’s 5 foot 11 and weighs 175 pounds.  When Glamour published the pic, they were flooded with letters of praise for showing a plus sized woman.  C’MON . . . is there anything plus sized about Lizzi Miller?  Joyce thinks not.  And Joyce knows–do not challenge Joyce on this one.  She has made her decision:  Lizzi is skin and bones.  Notice her tiny little flap of belly fat which is barely visible to the naked eye:

Most women we know and like would kill for a belly like that.  We’re boycotting Glamour until they start honoring the real woman.  And we’ve said it before and we’ll say it again:  Spanx be damned in Joyceland.

New Trend for JoyceMen?

Interestingly, New York Times reporter Guy Trebay has spotted a new trend for men which involves sporting a larger belly and has dubbed it the ‘Ralph Kramden.’  Apparently being a metrosexual is out of style and six pack abs are now considered ‘prissy.’   Ladies, are you embracing the Kramden?  Joyce prefers a man who offers a little more to grab on to.  A six pack is for drinking anyway.
